Charleston, W. Va., November 15, 2010 – Customers of Appalachian Power who enroll in AEP’s paperless billing program over the next two months will help their neighbors and have a chance to win $1,000.
 
Fiserv, Inc., AEP’s paperless billing partner, will make a donation on behalf of Appalachian Power to a local assistance agency for each new enrollment between November 1 and December 31, 2010. The donations will help low-income customers who have difficulty paying their electric bill.
 
“Our customers who choose paperless billing find they save time and money, in addition to making a positive environmental contribution,” said Jaime Beckelhimer, manager of Customer Services-Field Operations. “Those who enroll in November and December will make an even greater impact by helping their neighbors through the Help Your Neighbor Giveaway.”
 
Donations will benefit the West Virginia Utility Assistance Program. The West Virginia Utility Assistance Program assists low-income Appalachian Power customers who have difficulty paying their electric bill.
 
Customers may enroll for the paperless billing program at www.AEPPaperless.com and will be automatically entered in the Help Your Neighbor Paperless Billing Giveaway.
