APPALACHIAN POWER ANNOUNCES ESTIMATED RESTORATION TIMES
More than 30,000 customers restored since yesterday's storm

Charleston, W.Va., January 18, 2013 – Appalachian Power crews and outside workers have restored power to more than 30,000 customers as a result of yesterday’s storm. Outages peaked around midnight at more than 128,000 customers.

            Estimated restoration times have been established; however, it is possible for them to change depending on further assessment of electrical facilities. While it is expected that most customers will be restored by the times listed below, there may be delays in some areas.

            Power should be restored for the following counties and surrounding areas by:

            Virginia

            Friday night: Albermarle, Nelson

            Saturday night: Henry, Campbell, Bedford, Franklin, Patrick and Lynchburg City

            Sunday night: Botetourt, Roanoke, Russell, Tazewell and City of Roanoke

            Monday night: Buchanan, Dickenson, Scott, Smyth, Washington, Wise

            Tuesday night: Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe

            Tennessee

            Monday night: Hawkins, Sullivan and Washington

            West Virginia

            Friday night: Bluefield, Welch

            Tuesday night: Monroe
