AEP OHIO LAUNCHES EFFICIENT FINANCING PILOT PROGRAM FOR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS

February 23, 2015

GAHANNA, Ohio, Feb. 23, 2015 — AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) makes investing in qualified energy efficiency improvements even easier.  AEP Ohio can connect eligible customers with experts in financing energy efficiency projects through its Efficient Financing pilot program.

“The Efficient Financing pilot is a great way for businesses to obtain energy-efficient solutions without a substantial upfront financial investment,” says Julie A. Volpe Walker, energy efficiency and peak demand response R&D coordinator for AEP Ohio. “The risk of a large financial investment is often discouraging to business owners. AEP Ohio is proud to offer a unique way to help customers achieve both energy and cost savings.”

Currently, KeyBank is the financial services company working with AEP Ohio to offer lending options to qualified borrowers participating in the incentive programs. KeyBank is well versed in financing HVAC, lighting and controls, as well as other advanced energy initiatives for clients.

“We’re interested in supporting companies that have sustainability as a goal,” said Joe Paterniti, vice president in KeyBank’s Commercial Banking segment. “More companies are seeking to conserve cash and reduce energy dependency. We’re backing the projects of qualified borrowers.”
