Electricity is a safe and reliable form of power, but only if it's used properly. Can you spot the potential safety issue in each room? Hover over the hazardous area to reveal an important safety tip.
AVOID plugging too many devices into one outlet.
NEVER place extension cords under rugs or furniture and avoid using them on a permanent basis.
ALL OUTLETS in the kitchen, bathroom and other potentially wet areas should be ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected.
IF small children are present, safety plugs should be installed on all unused standard outlets. The National Electrical Code requires tamper-resistant receptacles in all new and renovated homes.
