When it comes to making home energy efficiency improvements, how do you know what’s going to get you the biggest bang for your bucks? At this month’s Tulsa Green Drinks event, PSO and John Abdo, owner of Pro Energy Consultants, will demonstrate how a professional home energy audit can give you the information needed to help green up your home, while also saving you money.

All across the country, people are getting on board the energy conservation bandwagon. And more and more, professional home energy audits are playing a key role in identifying where efficiency improvements are needed.

Leaks and drafts, a lack of insulation and an air conditioning unit in need of a tune up are just a few of the energy-wasting scenarios that could impact almost any home. Even small improvements can add up to big savings.

"Consumers are very interested in learning what they can do to help conserve and use energy more wisely," said Lisa Puyear, energy efficiency and consumer programs coordinator at PSO. "By demonstrating what can be learned through a home energy audit, we´re providing an opportunity for people to see firsthand how they can make their home more energy-efficient and save money doing it."

Tulsa Green Drinks is series of monthly programs presented by Sustainable Green Country. Amanda Forman, vice president of Sustainable Green Country and director for Tulsa Green Drinks, says this month’s program presenters are likely to open a few eyes with the information they’ll be sharing.

"By working with John and Pro Energy consultants, I discovered the source of my high energy bills. He is professional, thorough, and taught me much more than I expected about my own home," said Forman. "There were a number of simple updates and improvements that made a difference in my comfort level almost immediately. Even better – those updates lowered my bills and lessened my carbon footprint.

"After working with John, I plan to utilize the PSO Cool Saver incentives to test my HVAC. I highly recommend taking advantage of these resources."
