Summary:
A windstorm on Friday, Dec. 19, caused extensive damage to electrical facilities across Kentucky Power’s service area leaving 16,400 customers without power at the peak of the event. Nearly 600 Kentucky Power personnel, business partners and external resources are working on storm restorations.
Restoration:
Crews have safely restored power to 95 percent of customers in about 48 hours. Currently, there are approximately 652 customers without power and 96 individual outage cases, most of which have less than 10 customers on the outage. Restoration is expected to wrap up tomorrow tonight for all customers affected by Friday’s storm.
