Kentucky Power is excited to announce the launch of new energy efficiency programs this week to help customers lower their electric usage and reduce their bills. The programs – EnergyAdvantage at Home and EnergyAdvantage for Business – will provide valuable energy audits conducted by professional contractors for qualified residential and commercial customers. The audits will help identify cost-saving opportunities and offer incentives for upgrading to more energy efficient products.
“With costs on the rise for most everything, it’s crucial for customers to know that reducing electric usage can lead to real savings on their bills,” said Amy Elliott, vice president of external affairs and customer services at Kentucky Power. “Today, we’re pleased to announce the availability of these programs designed to help participants enhance the energy efficiency of their homes and businesses.”
The Kentucky Public Service Commission approved the new programs in February and applications are now being accepted for both the residential and commercial programs.
In addition to these new initiatives, Kentucky Power has expanded its Targeted Energy Efficiency (TEE) program to supplement funding from the Department of Energy’s Weatherization Readiness Fund. This expansion will help address health, safety and/or structural issues in homes that may prevent participation in the federal Weatherization Assistance Program. It will also provide additional support for Community Action Agencies, which have managed the program for Kentucky Power for nearly 30 years.
“Kentucky Power is committed to helping our customers and to being an essential community partner,” Elliott said. “Through these programs, we can offer effective solutions for energy savings, which will ultimately translate into a cost savings for customers.”
