Earlier this year, Kentucky Power received approval from the Public Service Commission (PSC) to reinstate Demand Side Management (DSM) programs to help customers manage their energy consumption and reduce costs. The newly introduced programs, EnergyAdvantage at Home and EnergyAdvantage for Business, are now accepting applications.

EnergyAdvantage at Home is designed specifically for residential customers. The program begins with a comprehensive home audit, providing homeowners with tailored information on potential improvements to enhance energy efficiency. By participating, customers can save energy and also see significant savings on their energy bills.

On the commercial side, the EnergyAdvantage for Business program will offer incentives to commercial customers following a personalized energy audit. This program will be implemented over a three-year period, which aims to mitigate the impact of the DSM surcharge on customer bills. In the first year, customers may qualify for rebates on lighting upgrades, while year two will focus on HVAC savings. The final year will offer incentives for food service equipment improvements.

In conjunction with these new initiatives, Kentucky Power will also expand its Targeted Energy Efficiency (TEE) Program. This program expansion addresses health, safety, and structural issues in customers' homes, providing additional funding for those whose primary heat source is electric and who consume more than 700 kWh per month.
