Kentucky Power's External Affairs team is meeting with community leaders and stakeholders across eastern Kentucky to discuss the important role utilities play in supporting economic growth and creating opportunities for the region's future.

Through candid conversations with members of local chambers of commerce, civic organizations, area development districts and other local groups, the external affairs team is answering questions and discussing issues affecting eastern Kentucky. The discussions help connect community leaders with information about economic development trends, investment opportunities and the role energy infrastructure plays in supporting growth.

"Eastern Kentucky's future depends on collaboration, investment and strong community partnerships," said Dalton Hatfield, external affairs director. "These conversations provide an opportunity to listen, share information and work together toward continued economic growth across the region."

The discussions also share updates on Kentucky Power's long-standing support for economic development across the region. Over the past 10 years, more than $7 million has been reinvested in eastern Kentucky through the Kentucky Power Economic Growth Grant program, helping support local projects and initiatives focused on growth and opportunity.

“We’re committed to keeping these conversations going because we want to be the trusted source of energy information for our customers,” said Hatfield. “Community leaders should be able to count on us to provide clear, transparent information about economic develop, data center safeguards and other issues that matter to the communities we serve.”

Presentations to date have included the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Paintsville-Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, Greenup Kiwanis Club, Ashland Rotary Club and One East Kentucky, with additional presentations scheduled in the coming months.
